HBCUs with strong nursing programs in Alabama

Could anyone on here give me the low-down on HBCUs in Alabama that have solid nursing programs? It's kinda tough to figure out from just websites what the program's quality is like or what the student experience is. Would seriously love to hear from anyone who's gone this route or knows someone who has. Thanks a ton!

Hey there! I totally get where you're coming from—it can be hard to suss out the details from a distance. Students often report having a positive experience at Tuskegee University. Its nursing program has a good reputation, especially for hands-on experience and supportive faculty. Also, you might want to check out the Nursing Program at Alabama State University, which is known for its NCLEX pass rates.

Look into these programs if you value small class sizes and a nice community atmosphere, which can be quite comforting when you're going through such rigorous studies. Also look into how important clinicals are to the specific program, as these will give you the practical experience you need.

My advice would be to try and connect with current students or alumni on social platforms—maybe LinkedIn or Facebook groups—to get a better sense of their experiences. Hope that helps a bit, and good luck with your decision!
