Armenian Student Population in Los Angeles High Schools

Hi there! I'm studying demographics in American high schools and I'm particularly interested in schools with large Armenian student populations. I heard Los Angeles might have a few. Can anyone help me out with more information?

Absolutely! Los Angeles, specifically Glendale and the surrounding areas, has one of the largest Armenian populations outside of Armenia itself. The LA Unified School District does not break down its enrollment data by ethnicity beyond broad categories, but some of these schools have well-recognized Armenian programs, which are a good indication of a significant Armenian student presence.

One school that might be of interest is Glendale High School in Glendale, CA. It has an Armenian Parent-Teacher-Student Association and offers an Armenian Parent Academy to bolster community connections. They also offer Armenian language classes, both for students who are beginners and those who are proficient and looking to study literature or history in the language.

Another school is Clark Magnet High School, also in Glendale, CA. This school has similar offerings to Glendale High School and has been recognized for the strength of its programs catered to its Armenian student population.

I recommend reaching out to these schools directly for more precise data about the number of Armenian students, as demographic data isn't always publicly available.

In addition to these larger high schools, there are also private Armenian schools in the LA area, like Rose and Alex Pilibos Armenian School and Vahan & Anoush Chamlian Armenian School. They might offer more concentrated Armenian communities, but keep in mind they tend to have smaller overall student populations compared to public schools.

Remember, demographic patterns can change over time, so it's worth confirming this information with more up-to-date resources or directly with the schools. I hope this helps guide your research!
