How competitive are HBCU soccer programs?

Can anyone share their experiences or knowledge on the level of competition, the recruitment process, and what life is like as a student-athlete at an HBCU?

HBCU soccer programs are definitely competitive especially within their own conferences and against peer institutions. While they may not always get the same spotlight as some larger, NCAA Division I programs, the level of competition can be intense, with dedicated athletes and passionate coaches.

Many programs are keen to find players who are a great fit for their team culture. And student life? From what my child tells me, being a student-athlete is a lot of work, but it's incredibly rewarding.
