Biggest Complaints in College?

Evening, folks! Junior here, trying to get a real picture of college life. Can any college students (or recent grads) share what are some of the things they disliked or regretted the most about their college experience?

As a recent college graduate, some of the things I found disappointing include:

1. Large lecture classes: Depending on your perspective, this might not be an issue, but I often felt like I lacked personal interaction with professors when studying in large classes with 100+ students. Many top-tier universities and popular courses tend to have large lecture-style classes, which can be challenging if you're someone who prefers a more intimate, discussion-style structure.

2. Difficulty maintaining work-life balance: The heavy workload and difficulty in striking a healthy work-life balance is another common complaint. College is stressful as you juggle assignments, midterms, finals, extracurricular activities, internships, and job hunting.

3. Limited access to popular/capstone courses: Sometimes it can be tough to get into the classes you wanted due to the high demand, especially for popular majors or capstone courses.

4. Cost: Affordability also greatly impacts the college experience. The rising cost of higher education, coupled with additional expenses like textbooks, can be overwhelming for many students.

5. Post-graduate anxiety: Lastly, the transition from student life to the working world can be challenging. The pressure to secure a job or graduate program position before graduation is very real. It's important to start thinking about career prospects earlier on to ease this pressure.

Everyone's college experience can be vastly different based on their individual circumstances. It's important to explore various perspectives to get a comprehensive understanding of what to anticipate, so you can make the most out of your own journey.
