Searching for colleges with more scholarships in Oregon?

I live in Oregon and I'm considering staying in-state for college, mainly due to proximity to my family. I'm also in search of schools offering the most scholarships. Any ideas of noteworthy colleges I should look into that are generous with scholarships?

Hello! It's great that you're exploring options within your home state. Oregon does have a number of institutions that offer generous scholarships.

One to consider is the University of Oregon. The university has a number of scholarships available, including some that are highly competitive. For instance, the Stamps Scholarship covers all expenses for four years and is given to outperforming students. In addition, there are several other scholarships based on both merit and need.

You might also want to consider Oregon State University. OSU offers a few scholarships that are worth looking into. Among these are the Provost's Scholarship for incoming freshmen based on academic excellence, and the Diversity Achievement Scholarship to attract and retain students from diverse backgrounds.

Reed College, although a private school, provides substantial financial aid to its students. Nearly half of Reed students receive need-based aid, and the average aid package is substantial. Do note though, they don't offer merit scholarships.

For more tech-focused programs, the Oregon Institute of Technology also has a wide array of scholarships, both for academics and for specific areas of study.

Also, don't forget that you can apply for state-wide scholarships like the Ford Family Foundation Scholarship and the OSAC Scholarship, which are open to residents attending any college in Oregon!

Researching each school’s specific scholarships, as well as state and local scholarships, can definitely help you choose a college that’s financially feasible for you and your family.
