Which is the Most Expensive College/University in the USA?

Hey all, bit of a finance nerd here. I've been diving into costs associated with higher education and I’m wondering - what is the most expensive college/university in the USA? I’m interested, purely from a numbers standpoint.

As of right now, the current titleholder for one of the most expensive colleges in the U.S., in terms of tuition, is the University of Chicago. Their 2024-25 annual tuition is around $67,446. But, when you factor in room, board, and other fees, the total cost of attending is approximately $93,633 per year.

Just keep in mind that these prices are "sticker prices". Many students don't pay anywhere near this amount after financial aid and scholarships are taken into account. The net price (what students pay) differs substantially from the sticker price (the advertised cost), particularly at private institutions.

If you're interested in the cost of college, you might also want to look into the average student loan debt after graduation, as this is an area where numbers can be quite eye-opening and impactful, and can include both public and private institutions. The numbers tend to be pretty high, with many graduates coming out of school with debt in the high five to low six figures.
