Which College Holds the Most Football National Championships?

Hey group, I was wondering if anyone knew which college holds the record for the most football national championships? I'm considering trying to play for a college with a strong historical football record.

The University of Alabama and the University of Notre Dame are traditionally recognized as two of the top college football programs in terms of national championships won. The exact number can be a little tricky because the NCAA itself doesn't officially recognize a champion for the Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS, formerly Division I-A), where the top programs play.
