Which female college athlete earns the most?

Out of curiosity, I've been wondering, which female college athlete earns the most from endorsements, sponsorships or various opportunities? I'm trying to understand the landscape of college sports better, especially with all the recent changes in NCAA rules around name, image, and likeness rights.

The NCAA rules surrounding name, image, and likeness (NIL) rights have indeed recently changed, allowing college athletes to now earn money for promotional activities, endorsement deals, and more. However, the actual figures indicating exactly how much some athletes are earning are often kept private and aren't disclosed publicly.

Under these new rules, female college athletes - similar to their male counterparts - can secure endorsement deals or sponsorship agreements, monetize their social media accounts, sell merchandise, host camps or clinics, etc. The earning potential can vary significantly based on the athlete's sport, personal brand, college or university, social media following, among other factors. Thus, it's difficult to determine definitively who the top earning female college athlete is.

That being said, some high-profile cases have been reported in the media. For example, twin basketball players from Fresno State, Hanna and Haley Cavinder, were among the first to sign substantial NIL deals after the rules changed, endorsing a range of brands on their popular social media platforms. Sedona Prince, a basketball player with a substantial Twitter and TikTok following, also inked deals with multiple brands.

These examples illustrate the potential for earnings under the new regulations. However, remember that these successful athletes represent a small proportion of all college athletes. Many will have NIL opportunities, but not ones that lead to large amounts of revenue. The relevance of personal branding, especially through popular social media platforms, can also not be understated in this new era of college sports.
