States with the largest college student population

Does anyone know which states have the highest number of college students? I kinda want to be around a lot of fellow students in my college years.

When it comes to large college student populations, traditionally, the states with the largest public university systems host a significant number of college students.

Firstly, California stands out. With the great UC (University of California) system and the CSU (California State University) system, it possesses some of the most populous educational networks in the nation. In addition, you have other large universities and community colleges as well.

Next on the list is Texas. Texas has a large population and several large universities, like the University of Texas at Austin and Texas A&M College Station. Other states with massive state university systems including Florida and New York.

Remember, these numbers may not translate into having lots of students around you, especially if you're living off-campus in a more remote area. But if you choose to go to a major college town or a university in a big city within these states, you will certainly feel the presence of a large college student population.
