Football winning colleges - need advice

Hey guys, looking for some advice. I'm a junior and I'm already thinking about next year. I'm a huge football fan and play for my high school team. I was wondering, does anyone know which college has won the most state championships in football? Would love to play football in college and want to go somewhere with a strong legacy.

It's wonderful to hear about your passion for football and your desire to play at the collegiate level. To answer your question, you might be getting a bit confused concerning the language of championships as "state championships" typically refer to high school-level competitions. At the college level, teams compete for national championships, not state championships.

If we're talking about national championships at the NCAA Division I level, the University of Alabama and the University of Notre Dame are considered some of the most successful programs. The University of Alabama, led by Coach Nick Saban, as of the 2023 season has claimed 18 national championships, while Notre Dame has claimed 11 titles and has an illustrious football history.

Remember, while the football program's legacy is important, you should consider a range of factors when selecting a college, including the academic programs, location, size, culture, and financial aid offerings. Also, consider if the schools you're interested in provide opportunities at your level of play, whether that be Division I, II, or III, and if those programs offer the kind of support and culture you're seeking. It's important to find a balance between your love for the game and your educational goals as well. Keep crushing it on and off the field!
