Which college football team has the most rivals?

Hi everyone, I've been hooked on college football ever since middle school and the rivalries are one of the aspects that make it exciting. Just wondering, does anyone know which college football team has the most rivals? Is there a source where I can check out the main rivalry games each season?

Hello! The concept of a "rival" in college football can be somewhat broad and subjective. That being said, teams in larger conferences generally have more rivals than those in smaller conferences, simply due to the number of teams they play regularly. Teams with a long history or those located in regions with a lot of college football teams may also have more rivals.

For instance, a team like the University of Michigan, which competes in the Big Ten Conference and has a storied history in college football, could be seen as having quite a few rivals. Some of the known rivals include Michigan State, Ohio State, and Notre Dame.

That being said, rivalries also heavily depend on perspective. For example, Michigan may view Ohio State as its biggest rival, but Ohio State may view Michigan as just one of several important competitors.

To keep track of rivalry games each season, one of the best places to look may be the schedule released by each college's athletic department on their website or school's football program. Most schools will highlight their main rival games, and you can also follow your favorite teams to know when these games are happening!
