Best states for college football recruits

I'm all for football, and I'm aware that certain states consistently produce more recruits. Does anyone know which state generates the most college football recruits?

From most sources, it's common knowledge that three states stand out as hotbeds for college football recruits: Texas, Florida, and California. These states have the greatest number of high schools and, consequently, produce a high number of student-athletes. Their size and population density combined with a strong cultural emphasis on football allow them to produce high numbers of recruits each year. Additionally, these states also have more camps, combines, and high-level secondary school programs, which can help athletes get noticed by college scouts.

However, and especially because of the changing landscape in collegiate sports, it's also important to look beyond these traditional powerhouses. States like Georgia, Ohio, Louisiana, and Alabama, for example, are known to produce exceptional football talent.

Finally, while these states may have higher numbers of recruits, it is really about the quality of the player, not just the quantity. Great players come from all over the country, and successful recruitment often comes down to scouting, coaching, and player development, not just raw numbers. A state with fewer recruits might have a higher concentration of top-tier talent, making it a very attractive place for scouts to find potential players. So, think beyond just the raw numbers and consider the bigger picture around development and coaching as well.
