Which ethnic group has the highest acceptance rate in college?

Out of sheer curiosity, and as part of a statistics project, I was wondering which ethnic group generally tends to get accepted into college the most? Thanks for your help!

In June 2023, the Supreme Court struck down Affirmative Action, and colleges are not allowed to practice race-conscious admissions anymore. They can, however, consider how race may have impacted a student as an individual. As a result, direct race/ethnicity comparisons in terms of college acceptance rates have become more complex and less meaningful.

The information you're asking for can be heavily influenced by various factors such as institutional policies, particular demographics of the applicant pool, the degree of competitiveness of the students within those racial/ethnic groups, and geographical location among others. So, the reality is quite complex.

In general, it's essential to keep in mind that colleges look at a holistic picture of the applicant, including academics, essay content, extracurricular activities, socioeconomic status, and potential unique life circumstances. Some colleges also value first-generation college students.

As a result, it might be beneficial to focus less on acceptance rates by ethnicity, and more on the factors within an applicant's direct control to improve their chances for college acceptance, whatever their ethnicity. This can include striving for high academic achievement, developing meaningful extracurricular activities, building strong relationships for recommendations, and crafting compelling personal essays.
