Baseball-focused states

So baseball's been a big part of my life and I'm curious if there are specific states that produce more college baseball players than others. Any ideas?

Certainly! Historically, states with warm climates tend to produce a higher number of college baseball players since these states can hold baseball activities all year round. For instance, California, Texas, and Florida stand out as they have consistently produced a large number of MLB players. These states have robust high school leagues, summer travel teams, and college programs that contribute to the development of players.

However, the presence of strong college baseball programs does not necessarily tie to the state of origin for most players. For example, you could have a strong baseball program in a cold-weather state like Michigan that recruits from all over the country.

It's also worth mentioning that you don't have to come from these "baseball-heavy" states to succeed either. Players from all states have made it to high level college and professional baseball. What's more important is skill development and exposure, which can be achieved through summer travel leagues, showcases, and attending camps held by colleges of interest.
