Recruitment for college QBs—when does it happen?

Hi, I've been playing quarterback all through high school and I'm considering to pursue it in college. So, wondering when do colleges usually make offers to quarterbacks? Are they typically earlier or later in the recruitment process?

In general, recruitment for quarterbacks tends to start earlier than many other positions. This is due to the important role quarterbacks play on the field and the complexity of the position, which requires more time to evaluate prospects effectively.

There isn't a hard and fast rule about when colleges make offers; it can vary based on Division, conference, and individual college. However, a significant number of quarterbacks receive scholarship offers during or even before their junior year of high school.

That said, it doesn't mean that if you're in your senior year and haven't received an offer yet, all hope is lost. Many colleges continue recruiting into the senior year, especially if uncommitted talent comes to light or if there's a late opening on their roster.

Remember that communication is key in the recruitment process. If you're interested in a school, reach out to the coaching staff and send them your highlight reel and stats. Attend college camps and combines to get face time with coaches and demonstrate your skills in person.

It's also critical to keep your academic performance strong. Meeting the NCAA’s academic eligibility requirements is crucial for any prospective recruit. Even the most talented athletes won't get far in the recruitment process if their grades aren't up to par.

Competing at the college level requires a lot of dedication, but the process is rewarding. Good luck!
