Is anyone familiar with Pomona College? I'm considering it and I'm trying to get an idea of student life – specifically, where do most students live? On-campus, off-campus, specific dorms?
At Pomona College, the majority of students live on campus, and in fact, the college states that 94% of their students live on campus all four years. There are a total of 14 residence halls across the campus that house the students. Each residence hall varies in size, style, and community, ranging from the South Campus halls that host a lot of first-year students to the more apartment-style settings in the North Campus for upper-division students.
A unique thing about Pomona's residence life is the Sponsor Program. In this program, each first-year dorm will have two sophomore mentors who live in the dorm and provide guidance and mentoring to the first years. It is often seen as an important part of the college's close-knit community.
Overall, you can expect a supportive and community-oriented residential experience at Pomona. It's a great way to form friendships, collaborate academically, and get involved in campus life.
