Most commonly used apps by college students?

As an upcoming college student, I'm trying to get as organized as I can. What are some must-have apps for academics, productivity, or just life on campus that the majority of college students use?

There are a few categories of apps that can be really helpful for college students:

1. Productivity & Organization: Consider tools like Google Drive for storing assignments and shared group project files. Apps like Evernote or Notion can help with note-taking and organizing thoughts. Todoist is a simple yet robust task management tool that can help you keep track of assignments, study schedules, and more.

2. Academic: Depending on your specific needs, apps like Khan Academy, Coursera and Quizlet can provide supplemental learning or studying resources. Wolfram Alpha is an amazing tool for complex math and science problems. If you often find yourself writing papers, consider apps like Grammarly for grammar and spell checking.

3. Health & Wellness: Apps like MyFitnessPal or Headspace, can help with nutrition tracking and meditation, respectively. Most universities have mental health resources and these might include proprietary apps—be sure to check out what’s available at your school.

4. Social & Campus Life: Depending on your school, there might be a specific app that provides updates about on-campus events, dining hall hours, and more. Apps like Meetup can also be useful to find local groups based off of unique interests.

Bear in mind that while these apps can provide a lot of help, it's best to not overwhelm yourself with too many. Evaluate your specific needs and pick the ones that best fit your lifestyle and requirements. It wouldn't hurt to ask upperclassmen at your university about what they recommend once you arrive on campus, as they may have insider tips on locally popular or university-specific apps.
