Which military branch has the most college graduates?

I am thinking about joining the military after college. I would like to have peers who also have a similar educational background. So just curious, does anyone know which branches of the military tend to attract the most college graduates?

The U.S. Air Force historically has had a higher percentage of officers who hold at least a bachelor's degree, compared to the other branches. This is largely due to the technical and scientific roles that this branch offers, and its reputation as being more academically oriented.

However, each military branch has programs aimed at attracting college graduates and all branches would provide you with peers who also have a college education. For example, all branches have officer training programs that are specifically designed for college graduates.

As you consider this prospect, I recommend reaching out to recruiters from different branches and asking them about the educational backgrounds of their members. They can provide firsthand details that can better inform your decision. Also, think about what type of work you're interested in doing in the military, as this could play a significant role in which branch will be the best fit for you. For instance, if you're interested in engineering or aviation, you might lean towards the Navy or Air Force. Conversely, if you're focused on ground combat operations, the Army or Marines might be more appealing.

In sum, while there may be trends in terms of education level across different branches, your decision should also strongly consider personal fit and career ambitions.
