When do colleges typically release their decisions in 2024?

Starting to get antsy waiting for college decisions – does anyone have a list or know when most colleges are planning to release their acceptances/rejections for 2024? If you've been through this before, how did you deal with the wait?

The anticipation of waiting for college decisions can definitely be a bit nerve-wracking! College decisions for regular admissions are typically released around mid-March to early April. However, each college has Its own specific timeline. For example, many Ivy League institutions traditionally send out their notifications in late March on a day nicknamed "Ivy Day". If you've applied to a wide range of schools, you may see decisions arriving sporadically during this timeframe.

To help with the wait, I often suggest students focus on their current academics and extracurricular pursuits—it's a great way to keep your mind occupied and positively impact your high school community. Also, this is an ideal time to explore scholarships or financial aid options for the future. Remember, no matter the outcome, there are always steps to take next, and there’s a path forward for everyone. Keep an eye out for emails from schools and check your applicant portals regularly as some schools may update portal statuses before sending out the decision email. Wishing you the best of luck during this time, and remember that this wait is just one brief moment in your educational journey!
