Colleges with the most Congress members?

Just a quick question here. I'm interested in politics and considering pursuing pre-law. That being said, does anyone know which colleges have the most alumni currently serving in Congress?

Sure, this is an interesting question! I did a bit of research and found that currently, Harvard University has the most alumni serving in Congress, with around 50 representatives across both the House and the Senate. Stanford University, Yale University, and The University of California system also have a significant number of alumni serving in Congress.

It's important to note though, that going into politics doesn't solely depend on the college you attend. While these schools may have a large political representation, plenty of other universities nationwide have produced successful figures in American politics. Furthermore, involvement in activities such as debate, Model UN, student government, or community service during college can be just as influential on your political career as your choice of institution.

Moreover, remember that attending a specific university doesn't necessarily guarantee a career in politics – it's more about the skills and connections you develop. Internships and volunteer work in the political realm can give you invaluable hands-on experience. Therefore, while the number of alumni currently serving in Congress could be a useful metric, it should not be the only factor while deciding on your ideal college path.
