Which colleges excel in Economy?

I'm planning on majoring in Economics. Out of all the universities in the U.S., which has the most renowned Economics program or contributes the most to economies nationally or worldwide?

There are several universities in the U.S. known for their highly regarded Economics programs.

1. University of Chicago: Their Economics department has produced several Nobel laureates and it's known for the "Chicago School of Economics" style of thought, which focuses heavily on the free market.

2. Harvard University: Harvard's Economics program provides a comprehensive foundation in the subject, and is known for innovative economic research.

3. Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT): The Economics department at MIT is particularly renowned for its research, with numerous Nobel laureates among both its faculty and alumni.

4. Stanford University: Stanford's Economics program is one of the most respected in the world. They have a rigorous curriculum and many top-ranked faculty members.

5. University of California, Berkeley (UC Berkeley): UC Berkeley's Department of Economics is considered one of the leading departments in the U.S., with strong programs in a broad range of fields.

6. Princeton University: Princeton's Department of Economics has a reputation for being strong across the board, with a particular strength in theoretical research.

Remember to consider other factors in addition to the reputation of the Economics program when choosing a school, including location, overall fit, and financial aid availability. Make sure to visit the department page of each school, participate in their webinars, ask current students or alumni about their experiences, and perhaps meet some of the faculty if you have the opportunity to visit the campuses.
