Which online college is the most generous with transfer credits?

Does anybody have any insight into which online college tends to be the most generous when it comes to accepting transfer credits? I've earned credits from some classes I've taken at a community college, and I want to know where I can make the best use of them.

The recognition of transfer credits can vary from college to college, making it difficult to provide a definitive "most generous" university. However, several online institutions have reliable track records for accepting transfer credits.

Western Governors University (WGU) is an established online school that is known for its leniency with accepting transfer credits. They have a generous policy where they evaluate your previous coursework to see what can be applied to their degree programs.

Arizona State University Online is another school with a liberal transfer policy. They allow up to 64 transfer credits from a two-year institution and 90 from a four-year institution. Here, the critical factor is that your credits are from regionally accredited institutions.

Southern New Hampshire University (SNHU) is also quite generous – they will accept up to 90 transfer credits toward an undergraduate program.

However, it's important to note that it's not just about the number of total credits a school will accept but also about what requirements those credits fulfill. For instance, a school might accept all 60 of your credits, but only 15 might count toward your major, with the remainder counting as elective credits.

Remember, transferring credits often depends on the similarity between the course content at your previous institution and the chosen online college. For this reason, it's essential to contact the college's admissions department or a college counselor to discuss your individual situation.

Bear in mind these are just some examples, and numerous other online colleges also have impressive track records with transfer credits. Always ensure you do your due diligence. Double-check with each potential school about their specific policies on transfer credits.

Good luck with your college journey!
