When's Spring Break for Most College Students?

Hi everyone! I'm a high school junior planning ahead. I'm wondering when do most college students usually have spring break? Does it vary a lot among colleges, or is there a certain month that's common? Just trying to get a sense of the college calendar. Thanks!

Hello! Nice to see you are planning ahead! Generally, most colleges in the United States follow a similar schedule for spring break. It often occurs in the middle of the spring semester, typically in the months of March or early April. There is some variation depending on the university, with most breaks happening mid to late March.

That being said, different schools within the same state may not have the same schedule. It's best to look up the academic calendar of a specific university either on their website or by contacting their admissions department, as the schedules can even vary from year to year. Also, keep in mind, some colleges may not have a traditional spring break at all, in light of COVID-related adjustments.

For example, in 2023, Harvard University had its spring break from March 11-19, while Stanford University had its spring break from March 25 - April 2. So while the exact dates vary, it's safe to say that the common month for most colleges' spring break is March!
