Most Diverse College in America?

I'm currently putting together my college list and diversity is a big factor for me. Which colleges or universities in America are well renowned for their diverse student body?

Rutgers University-Newark in New Jersey often ranks as the most diverse national university in the U.S., as it boasts a high level of racial and ethnic diversity. Its student body comes from many different backgrounds, creating a rich tapestry of perspectives and experiences on campus. The campus community comprises students from various racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds, including a significant number of first-generation college students.

CUNY—Baruch College, located in New York City, is another institution celebrated for its diverse student population. Its students represent a wide range of ethnicities, and the university hosts students from every corner of the globe, reflecting the diverse city it calls home.

University of Houston is also known for its diversity, being located in one of the most diverse cities in the United States. It serves a large population of Hispanic and African American students and is a Hispanic and Asian American serving institution.

The University of California System, with particular mention to University of California-Los Angeles (UCLA) and University of California-Berkeley, is also a well-known champion of diversity, as it hosts a large number of students from different racial and ethnic backgrounds. This is in part due to the California Master Plan for Higher Education, which commits to serving the local population.

However, do remember that diversity can be interpreted in multiple ways, way past racial and ethnic composition. It could also encapsulate socioeconomic, geographical, gender, and other forms of diversity. It's crucial to look into each college's specific demographics to determine if the school is diverse in the areas you're interested in.
