Bed sizes in College: What's The Standard?

As I am preparing to leave for college next year, I'm curious about what size most college dorm beds are. I'd like to start shopping for bedding early. Any thoughts or recommendations?

Most college dorm room beds are Twin XL, which is 39 inches by 80 inches in size. It's slightly longer than a standard Twin bed to accommodate taller students. When purchasing bedding for your dorm, look for sheets and mattress protectors specifically labeled as Twin XL to ensure they will fit properly.

For shopping tips, dorms can be a bit chilly sometimes and might not have great insulation, so a nice warm comforter or duvet always helps. Also, because the beds double as sofas for dorm room hangouts, it might be smart to pick sturdy, spill-resistant materials and darker colors that can handle frequent use. Patterned bed sets might also be a good idea to hide any potential stains. It could also be useful to have at least 2 sets of sheets, so you have a fresh one to use when the other is being washed. You might also want to consider a mattress topper for added comfort, as dorm mattresses aren't typically the most comfortable.

Remember, your bedding is a great way to express your personality and set the tone for your new living space, so have fun with it!
