Is a Google internship realistic for high school students interested in tech?

Alright, so I've been diving deep into coding and all things tech-related in my spare time. I heard about Google internships for high school students and got really excited! Does anyone here know how competitive these internships are, or if they even accept rising seniors? Any tips would be amazing!

Hey there! It's fantastic that you're pursuing your passion for tech with such enthusiasm. Google does offer internships for high school students, such as the Computer Science Summer Institute (CSSI) and the Google Science Fair. However, these opportunities are fairly competitive, attracting students from all over who have strong backgrounds in tech and coding.

As for tips, focus on building a solid portfolio of your work. This could be through personal projects, coding competitions, or contributing to open-source software. Also, don't forget to leverage your network. Ask your computer science teacher or the organizer of your coding club if they have any contacts or advice.

Also keep in mind that there are other tech companies that offer high school internships which could be excellent stepping stones towards a future opportunity at Google. You can find more compsci internships here: https://blog.collegevine.com/computer-science-internships-for-high-school-students
