What TEAS score is competitive for nursing programs?

Hi everyone, I'm planning to apply to a few nursing programs and I know the TEAS exam is a big part of the admissions process. I’m kind of stressed about what score I should aim for to be competitive. Does anyone know what TEAS score is generally considered good enough for most nursing programs?

The Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS) is indeed widely used for nursing program applicants to measure basic skills necessary to succeed in nursing school.

As to the score, higher is generally better, but what's considered a "good" score can vary from school to school. Most nursing programs consider a score above 80% to be competitive, with some more selective programs aiming for scores in the mid-80s to 90s percentile.

For instance, a TEAS score of 83% to 85% is deemed satisfactory. Programs are generally looking for applicants who can score in the "advanced" or "exemplary" range, according to ATI, the TEAS test provider.

But remember, nursing school applications usually encompass more than just TEAS scores. They may also look at your GPA, particularly in prerequisite courses, your personal statement, your healthcare-related experiences, and, in some cases, an interview.

It's always a great idea to check with the specific schools you're interested in to see what they consider a competitive TEAS score. Good luck to you as you prepare for the TEAS exam! Preparation and practice are key to securing a strong score. Try a variety of methods like study guides, online question banks, and study groups for a comprehensive approach.
