What are the mechanical engineering program features at UC Davis?

I'm a junior in high school interested in studying mechanical engineering, and UC Davis is on my list of potential colleges. I'm curious about what makes their mechanical engineering program stand out. Are there particular facilities, labs, or research opportunities that are unique to UC Davis? The department is involved in various areas such as Mechanical Systems and Design, Thermal/Fluid Sciences, Dynamic Systems, Control, and Robotics, Advanced Materials and Manufacturing, and Biomedical Engineering, which opens up a wide array of possibilities for exploring your interests or determining a specialty.
