What are some top colleges in Indiana?

I'm researching colleges and universities in Indiana as potential places to apply. I'm aware of a few, like Indiana University and Purdue, but I'd like to know if there are other institutions in the state making waves academically or offering great scholarships. What are some of the top colleges that other Indiana students are considering, and what makes them stand out?

While Indiana University and Purdue University are certainly among the most recognized universities in Indiana, there are many other notable institutions. Each has different strengths, so the best fit will ultimately depend on your unique interests, goals, and circumstances.

Notre Dame University is a well-rounded school at the national level and is particularly known for its programs in Business, Architecture, and Political Science.

DePauw University is an esteemed liberal arts college with a strong focus on undergraduate education. This college can provide a more intimate and focused academic atmosphere since it's smaller in size, featuring a robust Greek life as well. They also have a strong emphasis on global learning.

Butler University is recognized for its College of Education and Pharmacy programs, not to mention its nationally recognized men's basketball team. They have a great undergraduate research program where students can work alongside professors on research projects.

Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology is a top-rated undergraduate engineering college, known for its emphasis on experiential, hands-on learning.

Other notable mentions are Ball State University and Valparaiso University, known for their programs in education and engineering respectively. Ball State University also has a College of Architecture and Planning that is often recognized.

From a financial standpoint, many of these institutions also offer scholarships. For example, Purdue offers the Trustees Scholarship, while Notre Dame offers the Notre Dame Scholarships, both of which are very competitive but worth considering.

Each of these schools offers a unique campus culture, academic program, and opportunities for engagement outside of the classroom. Review the programs at each school, visit the campuses if possible, and think about where you'll thrive not just academically, but personally as well.
