Planning for the AICE Cambridge Diploma

Hi everyone! So I've been thinking about going for the AICE Diploma, but I'm not sure how it stacks up in the college admissions process. How did you plan your classes for the AICE Diploma, and do colleges view it on the same level as AP or IB?

Hello! I'm glad to see you're actively considering your academic path. The AICE (Advanced International Certificate of Education) program is well-regarded and can be an excellent way to demonstrate to colleges your commitment to a rigorous curriculum. It's quite comparable to AP and IB in the eyes of many U.S. colleges, particularly those familiar with international curriculums.

When planning your classes, aim to create a well-rounded schedule that reflects both depth and breadth in subjects you are passionate about. This can include a mix of AICE courses that cater to your intended major or field of interest while also showing willingness to challenge yourself in a variety of areas. Balancing your workload is key to ensure you can maintain strong grades and have time for extracurricular activities.

Keep in mind, though, that some colleges might be more familiar with AP or IB simply due to their prevalence in the U.S., so if you have a particular college in mind, it might be worthwhile to check how they view AICE in comparison. You can get this information directly from college admissions pages or by contacting their admissions offices. And remember, irrespective of the program, colleges appreciate seeing that you've taken advantage of the most rigorous opportunities available at your school, and they assess this within the context of your school's offerings. Best of luck with your AICE courses!
