Do I need a calculator for the AP Computer Science Principles exam?

I'm a bit confused about the calculator policy for the AP CSP exam. Are we allowed to use calculators, and if so, does anyone have any recommendations on which ones are best for this exam?

Understandably, the calculator policy for AP exams can sometimes be confusing, but I'm happy to help clarify. For the AP Computer Science Principles exam, calculators are not permitted during the exam. This exam focuses more on concepts and an understanding of computer science principles rather than calculations that would require a calculator.

When it comes to preparing for the exam, rather than focusing on calculator skills, I would recommend focusing on understanding the big ideas outlined in the course framework, practicing with sample questions, and refining your programming skills in the language you've learned in class. Additionally, the College Board provides a reference sheet that you can use during the exam for certain topics, which can be found on their website. I hope this helps clear up any confusion, and I wish you the best in your preparations for the AP CSP exam. If you have any other questions or need further assistance, feel free to ask. Good luck!
