Need-blind admissions - Which colleges don't consider financial situations?

Ok so, I've heard some colleges are 'need-blind' when it comes to admissions. Can someone explain what that means and list some colleges that follow this principle? Just trying to figure out how my financial situation will affect my chances of getting in.

Hello! I'm glad you're looking into the details of the college admissions process. 'Need-blind' admissions simply means that a college or university does not consider an applicant's financial situation when deciding whether to admit, waitlist, or deny them. This is designed to ensure that all students have an equal chance of being admitted, regardless of their ability to pay for their education.

Some well-known need-blind institutions for all applicants, including international students, are MIT, Harvard, Princeton, Yale, and Amherst. There are also colleges that are need-blind for U.S. applicants but not for international applicants, such as Dartmouth and Cornell. And keep in mind, being need-blind doesn't necessarily equate to meeting 100% of demonstrated financial need. However, the institutions mentioned above are committed to meeting full need as well.

It's important to research each school's financial aid policies to understand how they might apply to your individual circumstances. The admissions office at each college can be a helpful resource if you have specific questions. Hope that clarifies things for you!
