What's the best combat job in the military according to experiences?

I'm interested in combat roles and want to hear what others think is the best type of combat job in the military. What makes it stand out, and what is the day-to-day like in that role?

Various roles can be classified as "the best" depending on what interests or skills you have. It's also quite subjective because different people value different things in their jobs - what one person may find fulfilling, another person might not. That being said, I can provide some information on a few common combat roles to help you.

1. Infantry: The Infantry are usually the first soldiers on the ground in any conflict. Their role is two-fold – engage and destroy enemy forces on the front lines and seizing and holding territory. The day-to-day life can be challenging as you'll most likely be in outdoor environments for extended periods, often in adverse conditions. This role could fit you if you are physically strong, resilient, and enjoy fieldwork and teamwork.

2. Special Operations: Special Forces (SF), such as the Navy SEALS, Army Rangers, or Marine Recon, usually take on high-risk missions. SF personnel are carefully selected and go through stringent and rigorous training. They are involved in everything from counter-terrorism operations to deep reconnaissance and intelligence gathering. If you're looking for a job that is intellectually as well as physically challenging, and you're prepared to go above and beyond, then a Special Operations role might be the one for you.

3. Combat medic: Combat medics are responsible for providing first aid and frontline trauma care on the battlefield. They are trained to operate under incredibly stressful conditions where making a quick decision can be the difference between life and death. If you have an interest in medical fields and want the added challenge and honor of helping your fellow soldiers under fire, this might be an enticing role for you.

4. Armor: People in armored roles operate tanks and other military vehicles. They engage with enemy ground forces, often working in conjunction with the infantry. Day-to-day activities for an armor role could include vehicle maintenance, battle strategy planning, and training exercises. This role is ideal for individuals who are good with machinery and like working as part of a smaller, tight-knit team.

Remember, your experience in any of these roles, just like any other role, depends a lot on your attitude, mentality, and resilience.
