What's the cost of attending an HBCU?

I've been looking at a couple of HBCUs and I'm super interested! Can anyone share some insight into the general price range for attending an HBCU?

Hello! It's great to see you're interested in exploring HBCUs as an option. The cost of attending an HBCU is typically similar to other public and private colleges. They can range from $10,000 to $40,000 per year depending on a variety of factors such as the location, specific institution, and if you're an in-state or out-of-state student.

Keep in mind that most colleges, HBCUs included, offer financial aid packages in the form of grants, scholarships, and loans to help offset the costs. It's highly encouraged to apply for additional scholarships beyond the ones provided by the school, as well as submitting the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) to maximize aid opportunities.

Ultimately, the total cost will depend on your specific situation, but HBCUs provide an excellent educational experience that can be more affordable through financial aid and scholarships. Best of luck in your search!
