Hey y'all, I'm starting to look at colleges and I'm interested in the HBCU community. I'm in Oklahoma and wondering if there are any HBCUs here. Also, what's the word on their campus life?
Hey there! To the best of my knowledge, there is currently one Historically Black College or University in Oklahoma: Langston University. It's a public university located in Langston, Oklahoma, and has other campuses in Oklahoma City and Tulsa.
As for the campus life, I've heard that it offers a welcoming community with a family-like atmosphere. There is a variety of clubs, organizations, and Greek life you can join, as well as various events held throughout the year.
While the campus may be smaller than some bigger state universities, this can contribute to a more close-knit feel among the student body. To get a better sense of the campus culture, you could try connecting with current students or alumni, and if possible, visit the campus in person. Good luck with your college search!
