Math requirements for college admission?

Hey everyone! I'm currently thinking about my college applications and realized I'm not too sure about the mathematics requirements for admissions. Can someone please guide me on what level of math I should aim for before applying to colleges? Thanks!

Hello! It's great that you're considering math requirements when preparing for college applications. Most colleges have some level of mathematics expectation, but this can vary depending on the institution and the program you plan to pursue.

At a minimum, you should complete Algebra I, Geometry, and Algebra II in high school to meet the general math requirements for most colleges. However, if you're applying to more competitive schools or programs related to STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics), it's recommended to take more advanced math courses, such as Pre-Calculus, Calculus, and even AP Calculus (AB or BC) if possible.

To best determine the specific math requirements for the colleges you're interested in, I recommend visiting their admissions websites and looking up the academic expectations for applicants. Additionally, if you have any mentors or teachers at your school who are familiar with college admissions, don't hesitate to seek their guidance.

Remember to challenge yourself with a rigorous course load while also balancing your personal interests and abilities. Best of luck with your college applications!
