Best undergraduate majors for pre-med students

Hi everyone! I plan on pursuing a pre-med track in college, but I'm not sure about my undergrad major. What are some good undergraduate majors for pre-med students other than the typical Biology and Chemistry? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Hi there! It's awesome that you're considering pre-med! You're right that Biology and Chemistry are common choices for pre-med students, but there are plenty of other majors that can help you succeed as well.

One option is to major in Biochemistry, which offers a nice blend of both biology and chemistry concepts. Some other options include Neuroscience, Human Physiology, or Cognitive Science if you'd like to focus more on the brain and nervous system.

Outside of the life sciences, you might consider majoring in Psychology, Sociology, or Anthropology. These social science majors can give you insights into the social and cultural aspects of healthcare, which is important in medicine.

You could also pursue an interdisciplinary major or design your own if your school allows it. This way, you can focus on the specific subjects that interest you the most while still preparing for a career in medicine.

Ultimately, choose a major that genuinely interests you and will allow you to excel academically! Best of luck on your pre-med journey!
