How do AP Calculus exams differ?

Hey everybody! What are the main differences between the AP Calculus AB and BC exams, both in terms of content and question types? I'm trying to decide which one to take and want to be well informed before making a choice. Thanks!

Hey! Great question! AP Calculus AB and AP Calculus BC exams differ in both content and the topics they cover. Here are the main differences:

1. Content: AP Calculus AB covers the basics of calculus (limits, differentiation, integration, and the fundamental theorem of calculus). On the other hand, AP Calculus BC covers a slightly broader scope, including everything in AB as well as more advanced topics (sequences and series, parametric and polar equations, and vector-valued functions).

2. Question types: Both exams have multiple-choice and free-response sections. However, BC typically has more challenging questions since it covers a wider range of topics.

Generally, AP Calculus BC is considered more rigorous and is geared towards students who have a stronger background in mathematics. If you feel confident in your math skills, taking the AP Calculus BC might be a better choice to showcase your expertise. Good luck with your decision!
