Time management for ACT reading?

Hi there! It's great to see that you're eager to improve your ACT reading score! Time management can be tricky, but with the right strategies, you can definitely get it under control.

First, when you begin the reading section, quickly skim through the passage to get a general idea of the subject and structure. This will help you know where to look for answers when you read the questions. Once you have a good grasp of the passage's layout, start tackling the questions. Be sure to read and understand exactly what each question is asking for before searching for the answer in the passage.

Working backwards like this is more efficient than trying to read the passage closely enough to memorize every single detail up front, before you even know what's being asked of you. Some of the information won't even end up being relevant to any of the questions, so there's no sense in agonizing over each and every paragraph.

Sometimes, you may come across a particularly challenging question that you can't find the answer to quickly. Instead of spending too much time on it, mark it and move on. Complete the other questions, then come back to the difficult ones if you have time. This ensures that you won't miss easier questions simply because you ran out of time.

Finally, practice is key. The more you become familiar with the timing and structure of the ACT reading section, the better you'll get at managing your time. Set aside time for consistent practice and gradually work on improving your speed and accuracy.

Good luck, and I hope these tips help you in your preparation!
