How's it like being a student at the University of San Diego?

I'm considering applying to USD and would love to hear from current or past students about their experience there. How's the campus vibe, and are there any standout programs or activities?

Response: I've had the opportunity to interact with several students from the University of San Diego and it's generally painted in a positive light from their perspectives.

The campus itself is known to be stunning. Many students love the Spanish Renaissance architecture and the location overlooking the city, the bay, and even the Pacific Ocean! Typically, you'll hear it described as a cozy, community-oriented atmosphere rather than large and disorienting. It's small enough to feel intimate but has enough diversity in offerings to avoid feeling stagnant.

As for standout programs, USD's College of Business and Shiley-Marcos School of Engineering hold strong reputations. The business school, in particular, stands out for its emphasis on ethical leadership and social entrepreneurship.

Student life is as engaging as you make it. With 180+ student organizations, there are opportunities for every interest, be it academic, cultural, athletic, or service-oriented. There are also ample opportunities for spiritual growth as USD is a Catholic university, but these activities are by no means mandatory.

You might appreciate the wide variety of study abroad options; USD has a heavy emphasis on global education. It seems quite common for students to study in destinations across Europe and Asia for a semester.

Of course, it's important to note that everyone's experiences can vary. What works for one person might not always work for everyone else. Throughout your college search, continue reaching out to current students or alumni to get a holistic overview.

Let's hope this information guides you in your decision-making process! Good luck on your college search—it's an exciting time.
