What's life like at North Central Missouri College?

I'm thinking of applying to North Central Missouri College. Does anyone know about the academic programs they offer and what student life is like there?

North Central Missouri College, located in Trenton, Missouri, offers a range of academic programs in careers such as business, nursing, applied agriculture, disaster preparedness, criminal justice, early childhood development, and computer technology, among others. They have both associate degree programs and certificate plans, which can be tailored to the individual needs of the students. NCMC also has several articulation agreements with four-year colleges and universities if you plan to transfer after completing your associate's degree. The class sizes are generally small, allowing for personalized instruction and a strong rapport with professors.

As for student life, it's quite engaging. The college has an active student government association and numerous clubs catering to a variety of interests, from academic honor societies to hobby clubs. Students often host events and organize activities that contribute to a close-knit community.

Sports and wellness are valued at NCMC, embodied by their NJCAA competitive teams in sports like basketball, baseball, softball, and golf. The Ketcham Community Center on campus offers fitness facilities for all students.

Their campus is located in a small town environment, which offers its own charm and community feel, but be prepared for a slower pace than if you were at a college in a larger city. That being said, Kansas City is just a little over an hour away, so students looking for a more urban experience will have access to that as well.

Safety on campus is taken seriously, with 24/7 security and an alert system for emergency notifications.

It's noteworthy that on-campus housing is limited, with only one residence hall, Ellsworth Hall, which can house about 80 students. Off-campus housing in the surrounding Trenton area is also an option.

Lastly, support services like tutoring, advice on transitioning to college life, and career counseling are readily available to help students succeed.

It's always a good idea to visit the campus, if possible. That way you can gather your thoughts and impressions, getting a sense of whether it feels like a good fit for you. Hope this helps!
