When's the application deadline for Texas Tech University?

I'm interested in applying to Texas Tech University and want to make sure I don't miss any important dates. Can someone confirm the application deadline for me? Is there anything I should know about the application process?

The application deadline for Texas Tech University differs based on when you plan to start. For Fall semester applicants, priority deadline is June 1, while the final deadline is August 1. For Spring semester, the application deadline is December 1. Please note that these deadlines are subject to change, so it would be best to check the university's official admissions website for the most accurate and current information.

As for the application process, Texas Tech accepts both the ApplyTexas application and the Common Application. For the writing component of the application requirement, Texas Tech requires you to choose and write a response to one of the given topics in ApplyTexas Application or the Common Application.

Also, it's necessary to provide your official high school transcript and SAT or ACT scores to complete your application. As of the 2024-2025 application cycle, Texas Tech University does not require standardized test scores, contrary to some other universities that have started requiring test scores again. Transcripts and scores should be sent directly from your high school and testing agency, respectively.

In addition, if you’re applying to a specific program like Engineering, make sure to check for additional requirements like supplemental essays or recommendation letters. Texas Tech University also recommends submitting your FAFSA during the application process to maximize your financial aid options. The FAFSA opens October 1 each year.

Remember, it's always beneficial to apply as early as possible. This not only increases your chances of securing a spot, but it also gives you ample time to verify that all required application materials have been received.

Good luck on your application!
