What are some good jobs straight out of high school?

I'm about to graduate and considering skipping college for now. What are some good career options I can start immediately after high school? Any advice on jobs that pay decently and have growth potential is appreciated.

There are plenty of jobs that can provide a good income and career growth right out of high school. Here are just a few to consider:

1. Skilled Trades: Jobs such as electricians, plumbers, carpenters, and HVAC technicians often require vocational training or apprenticeships but not a four-year degree. They can be high-paying and offer growth opportunities.

2. Emergency Services: You could consider becoming a police officer, firefighter, or EMT. These jobs typically require some training and certification, but they provide a steady income and can be very rewarding.

3. Military Service: Joining the military is another option. It offers benefits such as training, steady pay, health care, and opportunities for advancement.

4. Real Estate Agent: With a high school diploma and a license, you could become a real estate agent. It may take time to build up a client base, but once established, this can be a high income-earning job.

5. Entrepreneurship: Consider starting your own business, if you have a knack for it and a great idea.

6. Technology Industry: While many tech jobs require degrees, others, like IT support or web development, might be attainable with certifications and/or demonstrable skills.

7. Health Care: Positions such as a phlebotomist, medical assistant, or licensed practical nurse require certification but not a degree.

8. Transportation: Jobs in transportation such as truck driver, train conductor, or delivery driver can have good pay and potential for growth.

Remember, as your career progresses, you may want to invest in continuing education or certification programs to enhance your skills and job prospects. Job markets can be competitive, so showing a willingness to learn and adapt is critical.
