ap calculus ab exam length

Hey, I'm taking the AP Calculus AB exam this year and I'm wondering about the length. How long does the exam usually take? Are there any breaks between sections or anything else I should know about the test format?

The AP Calculus AB exam typically takes about three hours and 15 minutes to complete. It consists of two main sections, each of which has a specific time allotment:

1. Multiple-Choice: The multiple-choice section contains a total of 45 questions, and you have 105 minutes to complete it. This section is further divided into two parts: Part A consists of 30 questions with no calculator allowed, and you are given 60 minutes. Part B consists of 15 questions where a calculator is permitted, and you are given 45 minutes.

2. Free Response: The free response section is composed of six questions, and you have 90 minutes to complete it. It is also divided into two parts, with Part A containing two calculator-allowed questions (30 minutes) and Part B containing four questions with no calculator allowed (60 minutes).

There is typically a break of about 10 minutes between the multiple-choice and free response sections to give students a chance to relax, stretch, and mentally prepare for the next section.
