Understanding CLT Test Results

Heya! I just got my CLT test results and I'm not sure how to interpret them. How do I know if I did well or not? Is there a certain score I should be aiming for when it comes to college applications? Any info would be helpful, thanks!

Hello! Congrats on completing your CLT test! To interpret your results, it's important to understand the overall structure and scoring of the CLT. The CLT has three sections: Verbal Reasoning, Grammar/Writing, and Quantitative Reasoning. Each section is scored out of 80, resulting in a total maximum score of 240.

While there isn't a definitive "good" score as different colleges may have varying expectations, you can evaluate your performance based on the average scores that colleges see. For example, an average score could be around 70 in each section, which would total to around 210. Aiming for a score close to or above this benchmark could be helpful during the admissions process.

To get a sense of how competitive your CLT score is for your target colleges, you could research their admissions statistics and see if they have any information on CLT scores specifically. It's possible, however, that less information is available since the CLT is a relatively new standardized test compared to the SAT and ACT. So, you might want to take other standardized tests or consider converting your CLT scores to SAT scores (although it may not be exact), just to see how you would compare with typical accepted applicants.

Good luck with your college applications, and always remember that your CLT score is just one part of the overall picture!
