Looking for trade jobs that don't require heavy lifting

I'm interested in pursuing a trade career, but I'm not keen on heavy lifting. Can anyone recommend trade jobs where heavy lifting isn’t a main part of the job?

Certainly! Several trades don't require heavy lifting.

1. Electrician: Electricians work with electrical systems in homes, businesses, or factories. They perform installation, troubleshooting, repairing, and replacing various electrical components. Although some heavy lifting may be involved occasionally when dealing with large pieces of equipment, it's not a primary part of the job.

2. Plumber: Plumbing work is also generally light on physical exertion. Plumbers are involved in installing and repairing water supply lines, waste disposal systems, and related appliances and fixtures in homes and businesses. Performing maintenance work such as clearing drains, fixing leaks, and working with plumbing tools is also common in this profession.

3. Draftsperson: A career in drafting involves creating technical drawings and plans for buildings or products. This job heavily relies on technical and computer skills rather than physical strength, as most of the work is completed on a computer.

4. Locksmith: Locksmiths deal with the installation, repair, and decoding of lock systems. This requires a high level of dexterity and technical knowledge but doesn't involve much heavy lifting at all.

5. Computer hardware technician: If you’re interested in electronics, a career as a computer hardware technician could provide a great fit. You would work on installing, repairing, and maintaining computers and servers. This job does not require heavy lifting and primarily involves intricate, detail-oriented work.

Please note that all of these careers still require some degree of physical activity and many need technical training, apprenticeships, or special certifications, but they generally involve far less heavy lifting than many traditional trades.

Of course, it's important to find a trade that aligns with both your physical capabilities and your interests. Hopefully, you find this list helpful in your search!
