How do Cabrillo College transfer programs work?

I'm considering starting at Cabrillo College but want to know more about their transfer programs. How effective are they in helping students transfer to a four-year university? Do they have partnerships with any specific universities?

Cabrillo College offers a number of effective transfer programs aimed at preparing students to continue their studies at a four-year university. They have a dedicated team of counselors and advisors on hand to support students through the transfer process, from researching potential transfer schools to submitting applications.

One of the key initiatives is the Transfer Admission Guarantee (TAG) program. The TAG program guarantees Cabrillo students admission to certain California universities providing they meet certain academic requirements. Universities participating in the TAG program include six University of California (UC) campuses: UC Davis, UC Irvine, UC Merced, UC Riverside, UC Santa Barbara, and UC Santa Cruz.

Additionally, Cabrillo College has articulation agreements with all of the Cal State universities as well as other colleges both within and outside California. These agreements ensure that specific classes taken at Cabrillo will be counted toward general education or major requirements at the receiving institution.

Cabrillo also provides resources and events to assist with the transfer process. These include transfer workshops, college fairs, and visits from representatives from four-year colleges and universities.

Overall, Cabrillo College demonstrates strong commitment to supporting their students in the transfer process. The breadth of the resources they offer, in conjunction with the TAG program and articulation agreements, greatly facilitate the transition to a four-year institution.
