Finding Full Academic Scholarships?

I'm a junior looking for colleges that offer full academic scholarships. Can anyone recommend some schools or programs that I should look into? Your suggestions will be extremely helpful!

Hello! It's great that you're being proactive about searching for full academic scholarships. There are many schools that offer full-tuition and full-ride academic scholarships based on a variety of factors, including GPA, test scores, and other achievements. I'll provide a few recommendations, but keep in mind this is not an exhaustive list.

1. University of Alabama: The Presidential Scholar award covers tuition, a one-time allowance for the first year (for books, etc.), and on-campus room and board for out-of-state students who meet specific requirements, such as a 32-36 ACT or 1420-1600 SAT, and at least a 3.5 GPA.

2. Boston University: The Trustee Scholarship covers full tuition for four years and is awarded to students who stand out academically, demonstrate exceptional leadership, and are dedicated to making a positive impact in their communities.

3. Vanderbilt University: Vanderbilt offers three signature merit scholarships: the Ingram Scholarship, the Cornelius Vanderbilt Scholarship, and the Chancellor's Scholarship. These programs cover full tuition and sometimes provide additional benefits such as stipends and funding for research or study abroad experiences.

5. Tulane University: The Paul Tulane Award covers full tuition and is awarded based on high school GPA, test scores, extracurricular activities, and a scholarship application. Additionally, the Deans' Honor Scholarship is another option that covers full tuition for exceptional students.

As you search for full academic scholarships, make sure to check each school's financial aid and scholarship websites for eligibility requirements, deadlines, and application instructions. Keep in mind that many of these programs are highly selective and thus require additional essays to help them make their decisions, so make sure to factor that essay-writing time into your schedule for senior fall.

Best of luck in finding scholarships that fit your needs!
