GPA for all four years in high school?

What's up guys? I was just wondering if colleges actually look at our GPA for all four years of high school or if they focus on certain years? Thank you!

Hey there! Good question. Colleges typically look at your cumulative GPA from all four years of high school. However, they may pay closer attention to your GPA from your junior and senior years, as those grades often reflect a higher level of academic rigor and more advanced coursework.

That said, colleges also take into account the upward or downward trend in your GPA throughout high school. For example, if your GPA improved significantly over time, admissions officers may view that as a sign of growth and perseverance.

Keep in mind that different colleges have varying criteria and weightage for GPAs, and some may recalculate your GPA to fit their own scale. Therefore, it's always best to research the specific colleges you're interested in applying to in order to understand their GPA evaluation process.

Remember, GPA is only one aspect of your college application. Admissions officers will also consider other factors, such as standardized test scores (if applicable), extracurricular activities, essays, and letters of recommendation, to create a holistic view of your abilities and potential for success in college. Good luck!
