SAT I vs SAT R: What's the difference?

Hey everyone! I've heard about the SAT I and SAT R, but I can't seem to find much information on the difference between the two. Can anyone explain it to me and which one I should focus on? Thanks in advance!

Hello! It seems like there might be a bit of confusion with the terminology. The SAT I and SAT R are actually the same thing. SAT R (Redesigned SAT) is just the updated version of the original SAT I (also known as the SAT Reasoning Test). The SAT R was introduced in March 2016 and has since replaced the SAT I.

The Redesigned SAT consists of two main sections: Math and Evidence-Based Reading and Writing. The maximum score for both sections is 800 points, making a total possible score of 1600 points. The SAT R was designed to be more focused on testing students' knowledge and skills that align with college and career readiness.

When you hear discussions about the SAT now, people are generally referring to the SAT R as the standard test for college admissions. Therefore, you should focus on preparing for the SAT R, as it's the currently administered test. Good luck with your studies!
